Drop OSS — Desktop Client
Drop is the house's own game library. This is its desktop app for Windows: browse the shelf, install a game, press play. One installer, one sign-in, and everything is served off our own hardware.
Get it
- Press Download. It comes from Drop's own GitHub release — the address below is the file, and the checksum underneath it is what you should end up with.
- Run the installer you downloaded (it is in your Downloads folder). Windows will warn that the publisher is unknown — the app is not code-signed, so that is expected; see below.
- Open Drop. On the first screen it asks which server to use — paste the house address below.
- Sign in when the browser window opens. That is Delarosa SSO — the same account as Jellyfin, Nextcloud and the rest.
- Pick a game in the store, install it, and play. Anything missing, ask Darren or Wilee and it gets added to the library.
- File
Drop.Desktop.Client_0.4.0_x64-setup.exe- Size
- 13.8 MB (14,484,000 bytes)
- Works on
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Version
- 0.4.0 — the version our server runs
The one address it needs
On its first run the client asks which server to use. That is ours:
https://drop.delarosafams.com
Paste it, and the app opens the house sign-in page in your browser. Nothing else on your PC is touched, and no account is created anywhere but on our own server.
Before you run it
- Windows says "Windows protected your PC". That is SmartScreen reacting to an unsigned installer — Drop does not ship a paid code-signing certificate. Choose More info, then Run anyway. It is a warning about the publisher, not a detection of anything.
- Check the file before you run it. The SHA-256 below is what we hashed from that exact URL. In PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\Drop.Desktop.Client_0.4.0_x64-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256 — the two lines have to match. If they do not, delete the file and download it again.
- Sign in only inside the app. Drop opens our own sign-in page on drop.delarosafams.com. Nobody in this house will ever ask you for that password in a chat, an email or a phone call.
- Keep the client on 0.4.0 until we say otherwise. Drop's 0.3 and 0.4 builds are not interchangeable, so a version we have not tested against our server can lose your imported games.
Get-FileHash .\Drop.Desktop.Client_0.4.0_x64-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Both warnings look worse than they are: an unknown publisher is an unsigned installer, and a browser download nag is a browser download nag. The checksum is how you tell the real file from a bad one, and it is the one below.
What you are installing
- The desktop half of Drop: the store, your library, the installs and the launches.
- One sign-in — the same Delarosa SSO account you use for everything else in the house.
- Games come off our own hardware. Nothing to buy, nothing rented, nothing phoning home to a storefront.
- Saves and versions stay on the house server, so a reinstall does not cost you progress.
- No games are bundled with the installer — it is the app only, about 14 MB, and the library is what you sign in to.
- No account, no payment and no storefront: the library is DRM-free titles we host ourselves.
Two controllers, one PC
The co-op pack: two PlayStation 4 controllers become two Xbox pads, so a second person can drop into the same screen in the games that support split-screen. Built for a friend of the house — it is not tied to his PC, and nothing on it phones home.
- ViGEmBus and HidHide, DS4Windows 4.0.2.3, and the settings that make two PS4 pads show up as pads 1 and 2 — the drivers a controller mapper needs, and nothing else.
- One installer: right-click Install-CoD-SplitScreen.cmd, Run as administrator, done. It also leaves a "CoD Split Screen" folder on the desktop with an icon per game.
- No configuration afterwards. The mapper starts with Windows, minimised, and hides the raw controllers so a game never sees the same pad twice.
- No game files. The games come from Drop — install them there first, or the icons have nothing to open.
- No new split-screen where the game has none. World at War and Black Ops split natively (press Cross on the second pad); Black Ops II has none in its PC build, and our Advanced Warfare build is the single-player half. The pack cannot invent what the game does not have.
- File
CoD-SplitScreen-Setup.zip- Size
- 19.8 MB (20,712,883 bytes)
Get-FileHash .\CoD-SplitScreen-Setup.zip -Algorithm SHA256
Questions
Ask Darren or Wilee. If the installer will not start, or Drop says "no supported versions", that is a library problem on our side, not yours — say so and one of us will fix it and re-import the game.
